…. continuation

10. Food

Islam have limited the meal that can eaten, Al-Qura’an 5: 5 “This day are (all) things good and pure made lawful unto you. The food of the People of the Book is lawful unto you and yours is lawful unto them. (Lawful unto you in marriage) are (not only) chaste woman among the People of the Book, revealed before your time, - when ye give them their due dowers, and desire chastity, not lewdness, nor secret intrigues if any one reject faith, fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good). (Al-Maidah 5: 5)
The verse about the food that can eaten by Muslim too can found in Al-Qura’an; 2: 173, 5: 3, 5: 145, 16: 115
In Old Testament; Leviticus 17: 15, had state that it prohibit the Christian disciples to eat the “dead” animal. This is too can found in Deuteronomy 14: 21 “Do not eat anything you find already dead. You may give it to an alien living in any of your towns, and he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner. But you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Do not cook a young goat in its mothers milk.”
Prohibition about the blood can found in Old Testament: Genesis 9: 4 “But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.” These prohibition too can found in Leviticus 17: 14, Deuteronomy 12: 16, Samuel 14: 33 and in New Testament; Acts: 15: 29.
The prohibition of pork clearly state in Old Testament; Leviticus 11: 7-8 “And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you (7). You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.”
This forbidden too can be found in Deuteronomy 14: 8 and Isiah 65: 2-5 “The pig is also unclean; although it has a split hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses.” Beside that, all disciples are forbidden to eat the food that served for worship to idol ceremony except the food had served for the name of Allah, New Testament; Acts 15: 29 “You are to abstain from food scarified to idols, from the blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.” And its too had state on Revelation 2: 14 “Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: You have people there who hold the reaching of Balaam, who thought Balak to entice the Israelites to sin by eating food scarified to idols and committing sexual immorality.”
