THE DIVINITY OF JESUS FROM ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE

Islam are very appreciated Jesus, and as the appreciation to him, have one special surah (chapter) on al-Qura’an had dedicated to him that entitled with Mariam (The Mother of Jesus). On few chapter in al-Qura’an too, had state the name of Jesus, this shown that Islam had recognized Jesus as the one of respected prophet’s. However, on the contact of Divinity from Islamic Perspective, have five main questions that must describe in details. The question is about the story of Jesus on al-Qura’an as He isn’t the God, and not the son of God but He is as the God Messenger. For the answer, we can refer to al-Qura’an as follow:

Jesus is not the God

Have six chapters on al-Qura’an that describe about this aspect. One of the chapter is:

Surah al-Maidah, verse 72-73

They do blaspheme who say: “God is Christ the son of Mary.” But said Christ: “O Children of Israel! worship God, my Lord and your Lord.” Whoever joins other gods with God, - God will forbid him the Garden, the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help (72). They do blaspheme who say: God is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One God. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them (73).

The other chapters that describe about this aspect is Surah Mariam (19:36-37, 58), Al-Baqarah (2:253), Ali Imran (3:3), An-Nisa’ (4:136), Al-Maidah (5:17, 72-73,110-118), and Al-Hadid (57:27). All these verses in surahs of al-Qura’an had tell about Jesus are not the God.
